Dermatopoietin® overview

Dermatopoietin® is our trademark for the natural human epidermal cytokine known as interleukin-1 alpha (IL1a). It is the major active ingredient in our cosmetic product range which is also called DermatoPoietin®.

Dermatopoietin® is a polypeptide of 159 natural amino acids.

In healthy human skin interleukin-1 alpha is produced by skin cells (keratinocytes) on a constitutive basis. It acts as key regulator of skin renewal and hair growth.

Dermatopoietin® does not penetrate the skin. Based on unique biochemical mechanisms it initiates from skin surface a cascade of reactions which result eventually in restructuring the collagen and elastin network in the dermis and in a positive influence on the hair cycle.

Cosmetic products containing Dermatopoietin® show

- anti-aging effects (increase of skin elasticity and skin thickness, reduction of wrinkles)

- anti-cellulite effect (smoothing of skin surface)

- reduction of hair loss, increase of hair growth.

Dermatopoietin® is produced by methods of recombinant biotechnology. United Technologies UT AG owns the intellectual property rights for its use in cosmetics and dermatology.
